Grassroots campaign to prevent the re-zoning requests of Submission DCDP-40 to the draft Longford County Development Plan 2021-2027 and the subsequent Chief Executive's re-zoning recommendations for Ardagh House and two gate lodges (from tourism to residential)

and lands of Ardagh Demesne (from tourism to agriculture).

A walk of Ardagh Village and the Neighbourhood Park was held on the 24th of July. Deputy Sorca Clarke and Councillor Uruemu Adejinmi were in attendance. The re-zoning recommendations for Ardagh House and Demesne were discussed.

Email correspondence with Deputy Sorca Clarke occurred on the 16th, 19th, 20th, and 25th of July, and the 3rd, 5th, and 10th August. The correspondence was confirming acceptance of the invitation to visit Ardagh, organising the (20th of July) virtual meeting, and follow-up information relating to the re-zoning recommendations.

One email sent on the 13th of May to Councillor Paul Ross with additional information to points raised at the meeting held on the same date.

One email sent to Councillor Paul Ross on the 17th of June about the lack of inclusion of Submission DCDP-40 on the agenda for the Special Meeting of Longford County Council on the 21st of June.

One email sent to Councillor Uruemu Adejinmi on the 16th of June ahead of a Special Meeting of the Longford County Council requesting support for the campaign to reject the re-zoning recommendations.

One reply email sent on the 16th of July to Councillor Gerry Warnock confirming receipt of his email sent on the 15th of July and re-extending invitation to visit Ardagh on the 24th of July.

One reply email sent on the 19th of August to Councillor Mick Cahill confirming receipt of his email sent on the 17th of August and re-requesting he support the campaign and reject the re-zoning recommendations.
