Intent: TENI had two intended results for lobbying this period. The first was to discuss our charity status application and discuss possible ways TENI can support the work of the Justice department. The second was as part of our membership of the Coalition against Hate Crime, where we sought information on the Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) bill and encouraged it's passage through government.

Intent: We intended to inform politicians that a different way was possible for gender affirming care, and to show that in other countries there are shorter waiting lists and better outcomes for patients. We hoped that this presentation would inform politicians that Ireland has the worst model of care for trans people in Europe, and that showcasing how other countries are doing it would help them in their reviews of the current pathway.

Intent: Saoirse attended a conference organised by the Immigrant Council of Ireland on 8th November 2023 at which Helen McEntee was a speaker. The intention for Saoirse at this event was to network with Minister McEntee and other attendees and to advocate for better access to gender affirming care for trans people in Ireland. To accomplish this we would hope to set up meetings with political parties to educate them on the situation and advocate for change.
