The Irish Farmers' Association - IFA
Intent: To invite a representative of the Department of Rural and Community Development to attend a Hill Farming Committee Meeting to update committee members on the proposed Dog Control legislation.::To acknowledge that, while the new regulations announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development were a step in the right direction, more needs to be done to protect farmers and livestock.::To seek a single National Database for all dogs to correlate licensing and microchipping, identifying the person responsible for the dog, and increasing the number of dog wardens on the ground.::To emphasise that an essential aspect of enhanced legislation will be enforcement, which will require more dog wardens on the ground.
