Intent: It is key that the process is right for employees and employers and it needs to be planned properly, more detail on the process is important and also a timeline to allow preparation ::it cannot be put in place because it is a nice or good thing to do; rather is must be attractive and work for the onger term benfits
Details: The plans to introduce auto-enrolement for pensions are confusing businesses at present and there is a lack of details and planning for same.

Intent: land beside the trainstation is a possibility and it is believed that the council have had some discussions::in order to drive the green agenda forward the bus needs beter access and routes to make it and other public transport options more appealing
Details: The new Bus Service does not stop/pickup directly at the train station, we need to look at moving forward in plans on how this can be improved

Intent: Cllrs need to look at how the budget is allocated to these areas across the county::it is vital that the industrial parks are well presented from signage at arrival to maintenance and roads/footpaths throughout
Details: The budget allocated to business parks in the county is too low and not sufficient to ensure they are maintained at the levels requried. Many companies recieven international guests regularly and we need to present Carlow at its best

Intent: Would it be possible to consider the introduction of special economic zones whithin our town centres for a period, focused on specific sectors in an effort to encourage more bricks and mortar retail into the long term
Details: Retail in the centre of our towns is vital to the longer term sustainablility of them and the communities they support, we need to do more to encourage and promote more retail in towns

Intent: Rates model is outdated and needs to be changed::To support and encourage in town retail we need to change how we operate, perhaps consider the introduction of special zones within our towns to encourage retail with tax breaks::Online Retails is important, but needs to compliment/support the physical environment
Details: Commercial rates are a big part of the funding to Local Government, however we need to fully review and overhaul this model as business has changed. Many online businesses are not contributing in the same way as high street retailers which are impacted and penalised with additional cost

Intent: We need to be cognisant of the many costs and see how we introduce sustainable measures with manage the costs impact on business::Rates as a cost to business need to be reviewed, the model is flawed and is having an impact on our town centres
Details: The cost of doing business continue to increase and over the last while we have seen many cost headings increase bu a small amount including min wage, sick pay, energy, vat etc. Individually they are small but collectively they are having an impact on business
