Intent: To highlight JTI Ireland’s commitment to the Lobbying Act as the primary reference for all lobbying with designated public officials in Ireland. In the context of an incorrect interpretation of Article 5.3 of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and its non-binding guidelines, to welcome the transparency afforded by the new Act which should protect all registered lobbyists from unfair & arbitrary exclusion from the regulatory process.
