Fair share of Sound and Vision funding to be allocated to independent radio.::Measures to ensure a level playing field in regulatory and legislative terms for independent stations and fair application of State Aid in the media landscape, as well as unrestricted and prominent access for listeners to radio in vehicles or on devices or platforms. ::Budget allocation for accessible funding for investment in capital and maintenance of emergency communications transmission equipment.::Attendance invited for event aimed at highlighting need to protect prominent access for radio, and arrangement of meetings and highlighting IBI policy priorities

Details: Advocating for fair, proportionate and accessible funding for the public service content on independent radio stations in the Budget and in policy discussions. Seeking level playing field.

Intent: To have the priorities, concerns and proposals of our organisation's Members considered in hearings, deliberations and report of the Joint Committee and for changes where necessary to be considered.::To urgently progress the access of our sector to funding approved in the last Budget and in the Programme for Government for news and current affairs in independent radio sector.::To seek to have the priorities and concerns of commercial broadcasters in Ireland and Europe considered in relation to EU and Irish legislation on media.::To ensure that IBI was aware of and understood the plans and schedule for the introduction of gambling advertising regulation.::To ensure open and constructive communications with regulatory authorities including strategic plans for the radio sector.::To arrange meetings or ask questions re policy, regulatory or legislative issues.
