Intent: To acknowledge that all applicants who applied for the Straw Incorporation Measure in 2025 will be accepted.::To emphasise that income prospects for tillage in 2025 remain on the floor and confidence amongst growers is at very low ebb with many leaving the sector. The combination of a decline in world grain markets to prices sub €200/t, high input and overhead costs and very moderate yield prospects for our largest crop; spring barley, will mean margins will decline significantly this year.::To stress that a 5-year €250/ha support payment must be introduced for tillage farmers to help stabilise sector, without further action the tillage area will only decline further which is totally contrary to government policy,

Intent: To meet with the Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine to discuss the IFA 2026 Pre-Budget Submission.::To highlight that this budget will be very significant as it will be an opportunity for the Government to make good the commitments they have made in their programme for Government.::To emphasise that the Budget in October will be against the backdrop of growing uncertainty for farm families, whether that's the impact of tariffs imposed by American President Donald Trump or the CAP negotiations that began officially in Brussels this week.::To highlight to the Minister for Agriculture, Food, & the Marine that additional costs and regulation put margins under threat. Intent: To call on the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM) to maximise all relevant measures within the CAP Simplification Package launched by the Commission recently, and to learn from the lessons of the past.::To highlight that there are a series of proposals within this package, especially those around inspections; derogations; supports for young farmers; and extending financial supports to support regulatory compliance; investment; working capital; and to mitigate adverse climatic events or other catastrophic events (such as animal health diseases or plant pests) that need to be secured to reduce some of the hardship and complexity for farmers::To emphasise that GAEC-2 should be removed from conditionality. An incentivised approach, with greater credit afforded to existing on-farm action, national & EU legislation and agri-environment scheme requirements toward the protection of peatlands & wetlands should be taken.
