Intent: Email response from Minister O'Gorman's Department doesn't mention the proposed 2% reduction in ABC funding in 2024 — a major concern for the CDI Board. We signal the need for a cost-of-living increase due to budget cuts, as maintaining service levels is challenging. ABC Managers Forum seeks a meeting with Minister O'Gorman to address the legacy deficit and support ABC program's excellent work. We urge prompt action.::CDI's Area Based Childhood (ABC) programme has not received funding increases since 2016, causing pressure due to rising living costs.Transitioning to Tusla reduced underspend, creating a shortfall between funding and expenses. Adjustments and surplus funds in 2022 aim to address this deficit for 2023.
