Intent: To invite local TDs and Councillors to a meeting to discuss the dispute between IFA and Bord Bia and the importation of Brazilian beef by the Bord Bia Chair Larry Murrin.
Details: IFA Ulster/North Leinster Regional Public Meeting
Intent: That this Council demand of An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, T.D. Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine, Mr. Martin Heydon, T.D., and the Government, the immediate dismissal of Larry Murrin as Chairman of Bord Bia, due to the importation of Brazilian Beef by Dawn Farm Foods Ltd., the company of which he is the CEO. This is a conflict of interests and hypocrisy at a time when exceptionally high standards are being demanded of Irish farmers. ::Following a short debate on the motion, the Cathaoirleach put the motion to the members, and it was agreed unanimously.
