Intent: To increase awareness of our service and what we do, and to inform the policy teams of our resourcing issue with a view to putting this issue on the political agenda. Our ultimate goal is to increase the funding of our service.

Details: Met with the policy teams within each political party to discuss the resourcing issue of our service - the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities.

I emailed the Policy teams within each political party - Fine Fail, Fine Gael, Social Democrats, Labour and Sinn Fein to arrange a meeting with them to discuss our service, what we do, and to inform them of the resourcing issue within our service. I also emailed Senator Tom Clonan requesting a meeting re same. - EmailMy colleague and I, NAS National Manager Joanne Condon, met with the policy officers/advisors/teams of the following political parties: Sinn Fein, Fine Fail, Fine Gael, Labour, Social Democrats. We also met with the Sinn Fein Disability Spokesperson and the Labour Disability Spokesperson for the same reasons. - Virtual Meeting

Intent: 1. Increase Disability Allowance by €20 a week to provide an adequate minimum income that guards against poverty at a cost of €133m. This as an interim measure; DFI also recommends further increases in DA over the next few years to offset the decreased purchasing power of people with disabilities, and to contribute to the extra costs of living with a disability. 2. Grant Medical Cards based on medical need, not income. 3. Re-introduce the Telephone Allowance as part of the Household Benefits P
