Intent: To increase awareness of our service and what we do, and to inform the policy teams of our resourcing issue with a view to putting this issue on the political agenda. Our ultimate goal is to increase the funding of our service.
Details: Met with the policy teams within each political party to discuss the resourcing issue of our service - the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities.
Intent: 1. Increase Disability Allowance by €20 a week to provide an adequate minimum income that guards against poverty at a cost of €133m. This as an interim measure; DFI also recommends further increases in DA over the next few years to offset the decreased purchasing power of people with disabilities, and to contribute to the extra costs of living with a disability. 2.
