Details: Budget Submission 2019 - SIMI prepares an annual Submission for the Budget. The Submission was issued to the Minister, but in addition the Society held 2 lobbying days inviting all TDs and Senators to Buswells Hotel to outline the contents of the Submission.
Intent: Change in public policy towards European issues by highlighting concerns of Macra na Feirme members on the future of Europe including budget and trade deals; and to influence policy change on Third Level Education, EU Funding, Mercosur Trade Deal and commitment from Government to increase overall national contribution to the EU budget.
Intent: To propose the scrapping Section 8 of this bill which would allow hedgecutting in August & burning in March will negatively impact breeding birds and other biodiversity. Comms also included detail on the impacts of burning on birds and other wildlife.
