Intent: That the Government and MEPs must honour their commitments to stand up for farmers and defend their interests by opposing the current Mercosur trade deal.::To discuss farmers' concerns with the Minister for Foreign Affairs::To reiterate strong opposition to the Mercosur agreement in its current form. The beef industry in Ireland supports 90,000 farmers and around 25,000 jobs and is critical to the rural economy. There are very strong concerns about the impact the EU-Mercosur trade agreement would have on the viability of some 90,000 families.::That, while it is often argued that an additional 99,000t of beef from the Mercosur block countries would represent only 1-2% of the EU beef market, this statistic is in fact very misleading. The high value EU steak market (fillet, striploin, and cube) will be targeted by Mercosur beef exporters and will impact EU producers' ability to achieve a positive return on the carcass. 30% of the value of the carcass is contained within the yield of high

Intent: To highlight that the area devoted to tillage declined by 16% between 2012 and 2020. The area devoted to cereal production has declined consecutively since 2012 with the exception of 2022 when an increase was recorded. However, a 7% decrease in the cereal area was subsequently observed in 2023 with a 26% reduction in overall volume produced (CSO). The cereal area contracted a further 2.75% in 2024.::To highlight that,as it stands at present, when compared with 2023, 2024 will see a net loss of funding for schemes associated with the tillage sector. IFA analysis estimates there will be a net loss of €24 million from combined EU and National Exchequer funded tillage schemes and payments in 2024. IFA believes it is critical that this funding shortfall is addressed with the sector facing into an income crisis.::To propose the establishment of a 5-year Tillage Survival Scheme with an annual payment of €250/ha for commercial tillage farmers which must be introduced in Budget 2025. This is vi
Intent: Awareness of the quality of exhibition and budget required for major exhibitions of Irish/International art. Awareness of the capital investment required in the Gallery's Master Development Plan. Develop advocates for this investment and secure future funding.
Intent: To oppose the introduction of any mandatory restrictions on peat soils. The Ministers must defer any implementation of Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC -2) in 2025 and ensure that the upcoming EU Simplification Package no longer makes GAEC-2 a condition of receiving Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) payments.
Intent: To introduce the Ready to Lead Programme 2025 which aims to develop the next generation of leaders within the farming community, equipping the with the skills and knowledge to navigate and influence policy for the agricultural sector effectively, to the Ceann Comhairle.::To request that the group of participants could visit Leinster House and meet with the Ceann Comhairle.::To request a meeting with the Minister and Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine.::To request a meeting for the Ready to Lead Programme members with Irish MEPs in Brussels .
Intent: That the Minister must meet with IFA to agree on and implement a consistent and adequately resourced TB scheme, including dealing with infected wildlife, in all counties.::To highlight that this is an issue that requires urgent and meaningful actions to be brought back under control, but these actions must be well thought out, have a robust scientific basis and quantifiable in the contribution they will make to reducing TB levels.::That the measures and the entirety of the programme must have transparent KPI's that allow real time monitoring of effectiveness in reducing TB levels and where not contributing to these targets there must be flexibility within the programme to have them removed. All measures in the programme must refer to and identify the scientific studies that informed their inclusion in the programme.::That, while there is an urgency to enhance the programme, it should not be at the expense of the time necessary to identify the most appropriate and effective measures th
